Who am I as a designer?

Hello there! I'm in Design 1 at Ball State now, so I'll be posting some fun blogs about that this semester! You can see them all under the category of "BSU JOUR234."

So, who am I as a designer?

Design is something I'm really passionate about and I think it all began with my love for art in general. My parents have been very supportive of my artistic interests since I was really young.
  • In elementary school? In the later years of it, my dad taught me how to draw by drawing one line at a time and then having my copy it on my own paper.
  • In middle school? They let me use sharpies all over my clothes and hair even.
  • In high school? They poured $$ into my many, many art projects (I'm pretty sure I took every single art class available at the time).
  • In college? They drive me to and from Ball State for my artistic classes and to and from artistic job at Let There Be Art (I don't have a driver's license yet, don't judge).
So yeah, really supportive.

Anywho ~ in middle school I ended up joining a local robotics team, PhyXTGears. In 8th or 9th grade, I joined the media team and I haven't stopped running with it since. I went from student to student leader to now a mentor of the media team. I've been in love with media and advertising ever since!

I get my design inspiration from Canva styled templates. I like to work from their templates and expand or at least create from the aesthetic on the modernized canva styles. Writing wise, I typically like to go for a rhythmic type of writing style, sometimes even spoken poetry styled. Some of my favorite artists from all walks of life and artistic capabilities are Banksy, Shane Koyczan, Augusten Burroughs, and honestly the local artists within the Muncie / Delaware County community.
